Our Story

Friends:

We met as Spartans on Michigan State's Campus our freshman year 2005. Amy was always looking for someone to walk with and Scott was never busy :.) At MSU Amy studied nutrition to become a dietitian and Scott studied Civil Engineering.

Dating:

On the tenth of November '05 we began dating. We enjoyed countless football games, tennis matches, concerts, and study sessions. During the summer months Amy traveled to California and we explored Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco and all the local fun.

North Carolina:

After saying our goodbyes at Michigan State, we moved to North Carolina in August 2009.  The Research Triangle brought a dietetic internship to Amy and graduate classes to Scott.  While living in Cary, we adopted a seven month black lab mix from a shelter.  Her name is Casey (inspired from the dorm Case Hall we lived in at Michigan State).  She loves the dog park, traveling with us,and romping in the tall grass. We traveled to the many beaches in NC, our favorite being the Outer Banks. We also visited Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Charleston SC.

Maryland:

New jobs brought us to Maryland.  Scott works in Washington DC and Amy in Towson Maryland.  We lived here s April 2011 to November 2012 and have explored Annapolis, Baltimore, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and DC.

Engagement:

We have really started enjoying wine tasting and often visit local vineyards for a wine sampling.  We decided to drive through the Maryland country side and sample some of the local wines on December 31, 2011. We first visited Linganore Winecellars for a tasting. While waiting for Scott to purchase the wine, Amy snuck a peak at a book about weddings held at the vineyard.  Who knew at the next vineyard Scott proposed!  he vineyard, Lowes, is family owned and as we walked up and the wine and took in the views, Scott got down on one knee and proposed!

Washington DC:
In November 2012 we moved, yet again!  Amy accepted a new job in Washington DC and Scott accepted a new position with his company moving him to the DC office.  We moved to Glover Park, a neighborhood near Embassy Row, Georgetown, and the National Cathedral.




Our Song:
One night Amy looked at Scott and said "so are you going to stare at me all night or kiss me already." Five years later in 2010 Thomas Square (a GREAT country duo) released a song titled "Are you Gonna Kiss me or Not" - needless to say it is our song!
